Believed late 19th century. Tribe/ethnic group unknown perhaps Tuareg

Typical leather covered hilt with rounded pommel. Construction not exceptional and gaping present between two pommel halves. Decoration consists of raised iron band on top of pommel. Core of grip is wood.

Blade is hammer finished with no fullers or makers marks. Quite thick with good flex although blade exhibits several waves towards the tip, possibly from poor storage conditions in the past.
