Comments
A very fine takouba with a probably European blade. The hilt is an unusual combination of copper and brass, forming a very attractive color contrast. The blade is of the usual triple fuller import pattern with half moon marks.
The pommel is a transitional type with a single domed plate. The grip is copper while the rest is brass. The guard features the usual four petal floral motif.
The scabbard strongly indicates a Hausa or similar attribution.
