20th century - Tuareg

Comments

A typical takouba of the 20th century. The blade is made from available steel, possibly a car spring. The profile is rather flat with the usual three fullers and crude half moon marks.

The hilt is of a simplified stacked pommel type with the usual combination of metals and a leather covered guard. The scabbard is perhaps the outstanding element featuring an elaborate chap, showcasing the metal working skills of Tuareg craftsmen.
