Early to mid 20th century likely - Lobi.

Most likely a ceremonial sword, collected from the Lobi people. Very large with an oversized brass hilt. Brass features some Latin lettering putting this most definitely in the 20th century. Hilt loose with movement in the plates - not uncommon on these pieces as the solder works loose.

The blade is very flexible, quite flat and sharp. Does not appear to be reworked scrap and the quality is actually not bad. Usual triple fullers ground out but no half moons.

The main draw of this piece is that it is a pagan version of a normally Islamic sword. I still have some doubts if the Lobi themselves made it, although it most certainly was collected from them.
