Likely 19th century or early 20th century - Toma.

A rare and unusual sword from the Toma people of Cameroon. The blade shares similarities with takouba blades triple fullers and half moon stamps. However this has a pointed tip. It may be a blade taken from a takouba and rehilted.

The hilts resemble some of the other takoubas on this site with swelled grips and a combination of lizard leather and cord.

This is a fascinating piece to show that even non takoubas can contain many elements shared with a takouba.
